Royal Victoria Country Park


Overlooking Southampton Water, this popular 200 acre park is an ideal place to spend the day with the children or to take a walk. There is a safe, relaxing environment in which to enjoy events throughout the year, exhibitions and walks. There is an interesting history at the park which was once the site of a military hospital.The park is open all year round and facilities include parking, toilets, barbeques, play areas, tearooms and the heritage centre.

Southampton Maritime Museum


Housed in what what once a medieval Wool House, the Maritime Museum opened in 196 and now houses one of the finest collections of Maritime History in the world. Its exhibitions tell the story of the port and the great liners that sailed from Southampton including of course perhaps the most famous the Titanic which sailed from Southampton in April 1912. The Museum is open Tuesday to Sunday various times and admission is free.

Marwell Zoological Park


Marwell is in the heart of the beautiful Hampshire countryside twelve miles from Southampton. The Park hosts over 250 different species of amazing animals including meerkats, penguins, zebra, rhino, tigers and hippo to name a few. There is a restaurant or an area for picnics and the shop sells a wide choice of gifts and souvenirs. Admission costs £13 - £18 for adults (depending on the time of year) and £10 - £14 for children. The park opens daily at 10 a.m. and closes at 6 p.m. in summer, 5 p.m. between April and October and 4p.m. in winter.

When approaching Southampton from the M271, following signs to WestQuay and the city centre. There is parking for 4000 cars if driving or if arriving by public transport the station is only a few minutes walk away. There is a free CityLink shuttle bus which runs every ten minutes from the station to WestQuay.
